Mr. J. A. Zaman was the Chairman of Ali Embroidery (Pvt.) Ltd.
During a career spanning close to 70 years, the senior Mr. Zaman worked at different times, in the Shipping Industry, a Sugar Mill in Pakistan where he served as director and Real Estate, before founding Ali Embroidery Mills in 1972. Mr. Zaman was a known philanthropist, writer and poet, publishing a collection of his own poetry shortly before his 90th birthday. He remained an avid golfer to the end.
The company he founded, Ali Embroideries, became the launching pad for Sefam Pvt Ltd and later, Sarena Industries.
MRS. SEEMA AZIZ
Seema Aziz is the co-Managing Director of the Sefam and Sarena Group of companies and a Director at Ali Embroidery Mills (Pvt.) Ltd.
Mrs Aziz is the co-founder and one of the main partners of the Sefam and Sarena Group and runs one of the two retail groups at Sefam while also serving on the board of the holding company.
Mrs. Aziz is a lawyer by education. In 1990, Mrs. Aziz launched the C.A.R.E project along with her brother Hamid Zaman but which she manages completely on her own now, and which currently provides education from the primary level up to university level, to over 145,000 under-privileged children in Pakistan’s province of Punjab. C.A.R.E, which currently runs over 190 schools, is a privately-sponsored welfare project now incorporated in several continents of the world. Recently it started providing vocational training to its graduates. It is now renowned and widely respected for its social work in the field of education in Pakistan.
Mrs. Aziz also serves on the board of various organizations and social groups.
MR. HAMID ZAMAN
Mr. Hamid Zaman is the co-Managing Director of the Sefam and Sarena Group of companies and a Director in Ali Embroidery Mills. He is a co-founder and main partner in the Sefam and Sarena group of companies and serves on the board of the holding company. He actively runs one of the two retail groups within Sefam while also running the Sarena Group.
Mr. Zaman serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations ranging from Civil Rights groups to Social welfare societies. Following the major Pakistani earthquake of 2005,
Mr. Zaman formed the Zaman Foundation which is engaged in provision of education, housing and medical aid to affected people.
Mr. Zaman is also an avid bridge player and has represented Pakistan in several overseas tournaments.
MR. TARIQ ZAMAN
Mr. Tariq Zaman is the Executive Director at Ali Embroidery Mills (Pvt.) Ltd. He is also the director in-charge of Information Technology at Sefam.
Mr. Zaman completed his Bachelors in Physics from Grinnell College in the USA and later on an MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan in 1998. He is currently an active member of several non-profit organizations including Civil Rights Groups and welfare societies.
Since 2007, Mr. Zaman is also managing the Group’s Corporate Farming initiative called the JAZ Hatari Farms (Pvt.) Ltd which among other things also includes a dairy farm. This farm is unique in Pakistan in the sense that it provides complete organic poultry and dairy products to its consumers.
Mrs. ENA MEHMOOD
Mrs. Mehmood is a partner in the Sefam and Sarena Group of companies. She is not presently involved in running the business. Mrs. Mehmood lives in the UK.
Mr. Asif Masood CEO Sarena Industries Mr. Asif Masood has a BSc in Textiles. He has been heading Sarena since its inception. Mr. Masood a member of AATCC. With a strong background in textiles processing and a number years of experience, Mr. Masood remains a back-bone of the organization and takes credit for a lot of the growth shown by Sarena over the years.
